TRE & THE HERD
An Introduction to TRE
Alongside the herd, we notice ourselves in relationship. Through TRE, we become curious about our experience within the body.
Join us at Danes Farm for a gentle, experiential morning bringing together time alongside the horses with an introduction to TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises).
We’ll begin by slowing things down and spending time alongside the herd. Horses offer us a different way of becoming aware, of our surroundings, of another, and of ourselves in relationship. There is nothing you need to make happen and no particular way you need to interact with the horses. Instead, we create space to notice: what draws our attention, how we respond, where we feel comfortable, and what happens when we allow ourselves to simply be present.
We’ll then take that same quality of curiosity and awareness into an introduction to TRE with qualified TRE provider Kristina Matej.
TRE is a body-based practice that uses a series of simple exercises to invite the body’s natural tremoring response. Tremoring is something the body is naturally capable of, TRE offers a way of safely exploring this response within our own bodies.
Kristina will introduce the principles of TRE and guide you through the exercises and your first experience of the practice, with plenty of time to go at your own pace, settle and integrate afterwards.
Together, the two parts of the morning offer different ways of noticing and connecting: alongside the herd, we explore ourselves in relationship; through TRE, we turn our curiosity towards our experience within the body.
You don’t need any previous experience of horses or TRE, and you don’t need to arrive with anything you want to fix, change or work through.
Simply come curious.
