Your Path To Certification
Becoming a certified TRE™ Provider is a journey that combines personal experience, education, and supervised training. Follow the steps below to learn how you can progress from finding a Training to becoming a certified TRE™ Provider.
Find A Training
Your first step is to connect with a TRE™ Trainer who can guide you through the certification process. A Trainer will provide the instruction, mentorship, and supervised learning needed to develop your understanding and practice of TRE™. Finding the right Trainer is an important part of beginning your journey, so explore available Trainers and choose one whose training approach, location, and schedule are a good fit for you.
Become An Enrollee
TRE™ Enrollee Membership is designed for individuals who are participating in the TRE™ GCTP training pathway. Membership connects Enrollees to the global TRE™ community and provides access to resources, information, and support to help them develop a strong foundation in the practice of TRE™. Through membership, Enrollees become part of a shared professional community committed to accessibility, safety, consistency, and the continued development of TRE™. Enrollee membership is a one time, required fee for those enrolled in a training.
Complete The Core Requirements
The next stage is to complete the core requirements of the TRE™ Provider training pathway. Through instruction, personal practice, observation, and supervised experience, you will develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to facilitate TRE™ safely and effectively. Your Trainer will guide you through the requirements and assess your readiness for certification.
Become A Provider
Once you have successfully completed the core requirements and your Trainer confirms that you are ready, you can become a certified TRE™ Provider. As a Provider, you join a global community of certified practitioners and can begin offering TRE™ to others within the scope of your training and certification. Provider membership also gives you access to ongoing resources, support, professional visibility, and opportunities to stay connected with the TRE™ community.
Is TRE™ Certification a good choice for me?
The Global Certification Training Program (GCTP) prepares trainees to teach TRE as a safe and effective tension releasing technique. Due to it’s unique somatic focus and its revolutionary new approach to health and wellness, you must be fully certified through this program, in order to teach TRE to others.
Common questions:
What value does the TRE™ Certification hold for a psychotherapist, or a mental health counselor?
Several psychotherapist and mental health counselors have called TRE the “missing piece”. TRE will give you an effective somatic technique for working with individuals recovering from chronic stress, anxiety or trauma (both past and recent).
Value to you:
- TRE provides you with a highly valued tool – a somatic technique – to support your client’s treatment process. Most of your clients will be able to utilize TRE on their own, supporting the work they are doing with you.
- TRE is a holistic approach to healing. TRE involves the body, the mind and the emotions.
- TRE can decrease the clients need to “tell the story”.
- TRE has become a highly valued complimentary practice for traditional mental health therapeutic “talk therapy” modalities because it supports healing at the deepest levels of the physiology, where traumatic responses originate.
- TRE can be taught as a non-touch bodywork practice for mental health professionals.

I’m not a mental health or a medical health care professional. What value does the TRE™ Certification hold for me?
Over the years we have certified many people from all walks of life, who wanted to be able to competently and safely teach TRE to friends, family, co-workers and/or clients. Amongst those certified are; mothers, community organizers who work with the homeless and high risk teens programs as well as firefighters, disasters workers and volunteers.
The TRE Certification Training program is designed to prepare you to teach TRE competently and safely as a stress relieving technique.
I am a Life Coach, will TRE™ Certification be useful for me?
Many in the Life Coaching fields are finding TRE to be a most useful tool to offer their clients. Through the certification process you will learn how to competently and safely offer this self-help technique to others. TRE is appreciated and valued by people across the spectrum of society from the homeless to the corporate executive.
Why can’t I start teaching TRE™ after reading the book or going to one of the trainings?
Dr. Berceli holds the copyright and trademarks related to TRE™, ensuring its safe and effective practice. Teaching TRE™ without proper certification is a violation of trademark and copyright protections.
Additionally, teaching TRE™ without full certification can result in inadequate guidance, as it requires specific skills, knowledge, and experience to safely and competently lead others through the process. Certification ensures the highest standards of practice, prioritizing the well-being of those who learn and experience TRE™.
If you sell the books and DVD’s so people can learn on their own, why can’t I start teaching TRE™ to others?
If someone purchases the books or DVD and begins exploring TRE™ on their own, they may naturally pause or stop if they feel uncomfortable—whether emotionally or physically. However, the dynamic shifts when another person is involved. In this situation, there is a perceived “teacher” and “student” relationship.
The “student,” even if they are a friend or family member, may trust the “teacher” to provide guidance and assume they have the necessary knowledge. Without the full competencies of a Certified TRE™ Provider, however, the person acting as a “teacher” is not adequately qualified to guide others through the TRE™ process. Certification ensures safe and effective support for anyone learning TRE™.
Do I get any other benefits along with my certification?

You’ll be eligible to feature yourself on our site’s Provider List, which receives thousands of monthly visitors. As TRE’s reputation continues to grow, this will be a valuable resource to connect with clients.
You’ll have access to articles and videos designed to support your ongoing development in stress and trauma recovery work.
You’ll be qualified to participate in TRE Advanced Workshops, enhancing your skills and knowledge in TRE.
You’ll become part of a growing network of TRE Providers who support each other and exchange insights through Facebook and other social media platforms.
How much does TRE™ Provider Certification cost?
The cost of TRE™ Provider certification varies because TRE™ Trainers independently set the fees for their own training programs. TRE For All does not set, regulate, or collect these training fees. When choosing a Trainer, we recommend contacting them directly for information about their current program, pricing, payment options, and any additional costs associated with completing the certification process.
Other Certifications
There are additional ways individuals may receive specialized TRE™ training and education beyond the standard Global Certification Training Program. These pathways can be developed to meet specific cultural, community, population, or professional needs while maintaining the minimum standards established by TFA. The certifications and designations described in this section represent specialized opportunities within the broader TRE™ community and may have different requirements, scopes, and outcomes than global TRE™ Provider Certification.
TRE™ Agency Based Instructor
This program is for those working within an agency or a facility. The following is needed from the agency/facility before TRE for All Inc can offer this special certification:
- Several people within the organization will be committed to going through the certification process together.
- Assurance that TRE™ would be taught in a setting where other healthcare professionals would always be available to support the Agency Based TRE Instructor, if needed.
- Agreement that all persons certified will meet competency requirements set by the TRE For All Inc organization.
- Agreement from the agency/facility that each individual certified will only teach TRE™ within the agency.
Neurogenic Yoga™ and TRE™ Dual Certification Program
This program equips certified yoga instructors to lead both Neurogenic Yoga™ and TRE™, offering a unique path to nervous system regulation and trauma recovery.
Participants gain:
- In-depth experiential and theoretical training
- Skills to lead Neurogenic Yoga™ classes with tremoring, yoga postures, breathwork, and embodiment practices
- Certification to facilitate TRE™ sessions
- A solid foundation in the neurophysiology of trauma and the body’s tremor response
- Mentorship and supervision throughout the process

Neurogenic Yoga™ Add-On Certificate for Certified TRE™ Providers
This program is designed for Certified TRE™ Providers who are also experienced yoga instructors and wish to integrate neurogenic tremoring into their yoga teaching. This training expands upon your existing TRE™ foundation, providing the tools and knowledge needed to guide Neurogenic Yoga™ sessions with confidence and depth. Learn more.
Innovative Pathways Facilitator
An Innovative Pathways Facilitator is trained through a specialized TRE™ education pathway created by a TFA Trainer outside of the Global Certification Training Program (GCTP). These pathways may be designed to address the needs of specific cultures, populations, communities, or professional settings, while maintaining the minimum standards established by TFA. Innovative Pathways programs may include specialized, post-certification, or other training opportunities; however, completion of an Innovative Pathways program does not result in global TRE™ Provider Certification.
Specialized Certifying Instructor
A Specialized Certifying Instructor is a TRE™ Provider who has completed additional TRE™ training and education focused on a specific population, organization, agency, or professional domain. With additional supervision and recommendations from two TFA Trainers, a Specialized Certifying Instructor is authorized to certify individuals as specialty facilitators or coaches who work specifically within that defined population, organization, agency, or professional domain.
TRE™ Certification Trainer
The TRE™ Certification Trainer program, by invitation from TRE for All Inc, prepares selected Certified TRE™ Providers to educate, train, and certify new providers through comprehensive training and supervision.
- Teaching the required three-day face-to-face trainings (Modules I and II)
- Providing direct supervision of the candidate’s required practical learning
- Helping candidates stay on track and accomplish all of the requirements for certification within the expected timeframe
