TRE™ is a revolutionary technique that provides the body with a deep autonomic muscle release. Developed by Dr. David Berceli, this natural, instinctive release mechanism relieves the physical, mental, and emotional consequences of stress and trauma. The framework for the TRE™ process is based on the polyvagal theory (Dr. Stephen Porges). The neurogenic tremor mechanism induced during the TRE™ process is initiated through 7 basic exercises. These movements induce a state of safety in the brain that allows for the release of past stored experiences of trauma and stress in the body. The brain and body respond to threats by creating tension in the fascia system through deep contractions that prepare the body to run or fight with power.
Unresolved stored tension in the fascial system can maintain the state of fight/flight or freeze, predominantly presenting as mental, emotional, and physical disorders. As a certified facilitator, you will see a client approximately once a week for 6 sessions. During this time, early releases will be facilitated, and the client will be taught self-regulation through the body, enabling them to tremor on their own at home. Complex trauma may require more facilitated sessions.
This training covers the autonomic, central, and enteric nervous systems, with a focus on regulation and integration.
TRE™ can be used with people of all ages (from 5 years), individually or in groups.

Please note that if you reside in South Africa, you will be required to travel to the M1/2 and M3 training days if you are located outside Johannesburg or Cape Town (we have a satellite Mentor for training in Cape Town). Supervisions can be attended online.
If you are an international student, we would love to meet you in person, but we understand the time and expense of travel, and we will accommodate you online with our highly experienced mentors during the practical sessions.
