What is TRE® ?
TRE® (Trauma and Tension Releasing Exercises) describes a series of simple physical exercises. These can activate the psoas muscle of the body in order to induce its natural ability for autonomous tremors. Neurogenic tremoring is regulated by the autonomous nervous system and leads to spontaneous movements in our neuromuscular system. It helps to down-regulate the nervous system naturally and can resolve past stress or trauma from the body. States of hyperarousal (freeze, flight, fight, dissociation) can be reduced in this way. If the body is allowed to let go, we will free ourselves from stress and tension.
What to expect from a TRE®-session?
During the first session of doing TRE® most people experience autonomous movements in the legs, hips and in the area of the belly. When practising TRE® regularly, those movements will also move to the upper part of the body and release tension wherever it needs to. You may also feel some emotional and mental release or energetic discharge.
