A three-module in-person certification training with Maria Alfaro & Alex Greene, founder of Red Beard and Neurogenic Integration · Module one begins December 5–6, 2026
This is a professional certification training — a serious commitment for those preparing to become certified TRE® Providers.
About this training
The Los Angeles TRE® Certification Training is a three-module, in-person program designed for practitioners preparing to guide others through Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises. Across three weekend modules spanning seven months, you’ll develop the theoretical grounding, practical skill, and embodied confidence needed to hold safe, skilled, and responsive TRE® sessions.
This cohort is co-led by Maria Alfaro — TRE® Certification Trainer, co-creator of Neurogenic Yoga™, and one of the most experienced TRE® educators in the world — and Alex Greene, TRE® Trainer, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, and founder of Red Beard Somatic Therapy.
What is TRE®?
Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises — the body’s built-in mechanism for discharging stress.
TRE® was developed by Dr. David Berceli from decades of work in trauma-affected communities worldwide. It uses a simple sequence of exercises to fatigue the deep postural muscles — particularly the psoas — and invite the body’s natural tremoring reflex to activate. Once the tremors begin, the nervous system does the rest.
Certified TRE® Providers learn to guide this process safely and skillfully — recognizing what the tremor is doing, when to titrate, when to pause, and how to hold the space so the person’s own nervous system can find its way back to regulation.
Becoming certified is both a professional credential and a commitment to embodied study — developing the internal capacity to be a steady, discerning guide for others.
