What Is TRE®?
Tension and trauma releasing exercises
A body-led series of simple, powerful exercises to release stress, tension, and trauma
Developed by Dr. David Berceli, PhD
TRE® safely activates the body’s natural reflex of shaking or vibrating, which helps calm the nervous system and release muscular tension. When this process occurs in a safe and controlled environment, the body naturally returns to a balanced state. Watch the condensed explanation video.

Our Mission
TRE®: Tension release for everybody and every body.
The accumulation of stress and trauma can dysregulate the nervous system, fostering conflict, hostility, and aggression. TRE For All (a Not-For-Profit 501 c3, also known as TFA) supports health, well-being, and harmony by providing safe access to TRE®—a practical and effective technique that reduces stress and tension, helping the body and nervous system return to a healthy state.
Our goal is to equip everyone—every person and every body—with the tools to regulate their own nervous system, reducing the neurobiological effects of trauma and fostering a sustainable, more peaceful world.

What Makes TRE® Unique?
- Body-Led Healing: TRE® uses the body’s natural reflexes to release tension and restore well-being without requiring verbal processing of past trauma.
- Self-Help and Versatility: Once learned, TRE® becomes a lifelong tool for stress relief and emotional regulation. It complements other treatments and can be taught in various settings, including large groups.
- Universal Appeal: TRE® transcends cultural and language barriers, as it’s based on innate physiological responses shared by all humans.
- Community Impact: TRE® fosters connection, openness, and resolution in interpersonal, corporate, and even political settings.
