SUMMARY:Children and Spontaneous Neurogenic Tremors - Support and Relations
 hip
DESCRIPTION:-Supporting children’s naturally occurring tremors\, communic
ation\, conflict resolution\, and adverse events.\nA talk by Hans Holter S
olhjell\n-TRE™ Global Certification Trainer\, conflict resolution traine
 r\, SE and Feldenkrais method practitioner.\nTuesday\, January 24th | 5 pm
  – 6 pm CET.\n\nThis is a free talk and open to anyone.\n\nAs parents\,
we can sometimes see that young children will tremor or have other spontan
eous movements\, in addition to the more obvious emotional movements such
as crying. This can happen when they are scared\, angry\, or experiencing
pain or other adverse events. For instance\, a medical or dental procedure
 \, an accident\, etc.\n\nIn these situations\, the tremors and emotional m
ovements happen naturally\, without exercises\, etc.\, to facilitate the t
remors. How we relate to and communicate with the child about what happens
in the body\, can either create a sense of safety and normalcy regarding
the body’s natural emotional processes or shut it down\, making the chil
d feel it is wrong and shameful.\n\nIn this talk\, I will talk about how w
e can create safety and relate to those situations where tremors and emoti
onal release occur naturally\, during or after such events. I will also ta
lk about four types of regulation\, auto-regulation\, self-regulation\, co
-regulation\, and regulation-support.\n\nI will also present the PLS regul
ation-support framework\, a set of practically oriented educational models
for developmentally supportive communication\, conflict resolution\, and
regulation support.\n\nAn online introductory course in the PLS regulation
-support framework is available on this page.\nRegister for the free talk
here.\nWorking with the upper body\, part two\n-Explore ways to activate a
nd work with the upper body in TRE™.\nTRE™ q&amp\;a\, connect and trem
or session led by Hans Holter Solhjell\n\nTuesday\, January 24th | 6:15 pm
  – 8:15 pm CET.\n\n(This TRE™ session is not for beginners and only fo
r those who can self-regulate well and feel safe doing TRE™. It is also
more suited to those who feel safe with more intense releases and benefit
from this\, or feel ready to explore releases with more intensity).\n\nA c
ommon phenomenon in TRE™ practice is to only have tremors in the lower b
ody\, the legs\, and the pelvis. Many ask how one can facilitate tremors i
n the upper body and want to release tension in those areas.\n\nPartly thi
s is due to the basic TRE™ exercises addressing and activating mostly th
e lower body and\, therefore\, facilitating tremors there. There are good
reasons for this\, as tremors in the lower body mostly feel safer and are
easier to navigate internally.\n\nFor some\, the tremors easily move into
the upper body\, but for many\, it does not. The upper body is\, for most
people\, more consciously controlled and held than the legs. Tremors in th
e upper body can also influence breathing and emotions. This can be highly
useful and facilitate deep releases but can initially feel more unsafe\,
uncomfortable\, and strange than the basic tremors.\n\nYou will learn seve
ral principles\, techniques\, and also positions that can be used to help
facilitate tremors in the upper body\, the trunk\, shoulders\, arms\, and
hands. We will work both standing and sitting\, as well as lying on the fl
oor. We will also talk about other types of release than tremors.\n\nThis
is the first in a series of sessions where I will present various ideas\,
principles\, and techniques that help facilitate deeper releases\, release
beyond tremors\, emotional pulsation\, seeing and working with patterns o
 f blocking release\, sound\, etc.\nSign up for Q&amp\;A and tremor session
  here.\n\nAbout Hans Holter Solhjell\n\nHans is a Norwegian educator\, tra
iner and practitioner of several learning\, change and body oriented metho
ds\, such as the Feldenkrais method\, TRE™\, Somatic Experiencing. He al
so works with parents\, kindergartens and schools with a focus on communic
ation\, conflict resolution\, and developmentally supportive relationships
with children.\n\nI became actively involved in self-development as a stu
dent in my early 20’s and have been focused on learning\, self-developme
 nt and change processes\, body-oriented methods\, communication\, conflict
resolution\, parenting\, trauma therapy\, Integral theory and various spo
rts activities like barefoot running\, total immersion swimming\, skiing\,
self-defense\, Aikido\, Krav Maga etc.\n\nI have trained in and are a pra
ctitioner of several practices\, the Feldenkrais Method\, Communicology\,
the Sounder Sleep System\, Somatic Experiencing (SE)\, and am also certifi
ed as a Trainer in Trauma Release Exercises (TRE™).\n\nAfter completing
a major in pedagogy\, and also worked at the Police College in Oslo\, wher
e I taught psychology with an emphasis on stress management and conflict r
esolution. I have been teaching courses\, trainings\, and counseling in pr
ivate practice since 2006.\n\nIn my private practice\, I work with councel
ling and courses for parents\, trainings for staff in kindergartens and sc
hools\, with body-oriented trauma therapy\, and body oriented learning and
development processes.\n\nI have also developed several practical models
for self-development and developmentally supportive conflict resolution\,
among them the PLS (Positive Learning Spirals) regulation support model\,
a practically oriented method for development-supportive communication and
conflict resolution in relationships with children.\n\nYou can read more
