 n\nStress and\, unfortunately\, trauma are part of the human condition\, b
 ut so is resilience and post-traumatic growth! Let’s educate our youth a
 nd help them develop resilience and lifelong wellness habits so they can t
 hrive and not just survive.\n\nDrawing from her decades of child developme
 nt\, counseling\, teaching yoga to children\, and TRE experience\, Lynea G
 illen will share her discoveries of how to safely introduce TRE to infants
 \, children\, and teens.\n\nRelate\, Educate\, Regulate\n\nIn this worksho
 p Lynea will show how to translate polyvagal and attachment theory into pr
 actice with the use of effective listening and communication skills that d
 evelop trust and rapport\, and simple grounding practices for ourselves an
 d our clients.\n\nThen\, you will also learn how to educate a range of age
 s and cognitive abilities about how our nervous system works\, that fight\
 , flight and freeze responses are healthy survival mechanisms\, and how to
  destigmatize shaking.\n\nLynea will also share her experience in how deve
 lopmental trauma presents at home and in school\, the difference between t
 riggers and tantrums\, and how to set compassionate boundaries with trauma
  survivors.\n\nWith this foundation\, you will learn how to safely introdu
 ce the tremor response\, considering the unique needs\, language and adapt
 ions for family/infants\, children\, and teens.\n\nLynea loves to collabor
 ate and draw out the collective intelligence of workshop participants\, th
 erefore there will be lots of opportunities to ask questions\, share ideas
  and relate experiences in how our TRE community can create best practices
  for introducing TRE to our youth.\n\nWhat Else You Will Learn\n\n 	When a

 &gt\;\nInstructor\n\nLynea Gillen\, LPC\, RYT\, TRE Trainer\, is a pioneer
  in the field of health and wellness education. Her heart-centered\, creat
 ive and effective tools were developed directly from her 40+ years as a sc
 hool teacher\, child &amp\; family counselor and clinician.\n\nLynea’s Y
 oga Calm for Children program was developed in a behavior classroom in a r
 ural Oregon elementary school 20 years ago and is now being used with tens
  of thousands of children around the world in diverse settings such as urb
 an classrooms\, clinics and psychiatric hospitals like the Mayo Clinic.\n\
 nLynea has extensive experience with TRE having organized and assisted wit
 h dozens of certification trainings over the last 12 years with Dr David B
 erceli\, including the development of TRE’s online global certification 
 trainings.\n\nLynea is also an adjunct professor at Portland State Univers
 ity\, Lewis &amp\; Clark College and the University of the Pacific\, where
  she has created over a dozen graduate level courses in elementary school 
 counseling and special education and has taught thousands of schoolteacher
 s\, counselors and therapists.\n\nHer online course Transforming Childhood
  Trauma is a strength-based approach for working with trauma in classroom 
 and therapeutic settings\, and her Empower program provides short integrat
 ed nervous system education\, mindfulness and yoga activities to help elem
 entary school children.\n\nLynea is a current licensed professional counse
 lor with the state of Oregon\, holds an MS in counseling in education from
  PSU\, and is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance.
