SUMMARY:TRE™ and Multiple Sclerosis -Latest experiences and research upda
 te (Norway)
DESCRIPTION:-A talk by Anne Rustad Sjøvold and Katrine Bagge-Skarheim\nMon
 day\, December 1st | 6 pm – 6:45 pm CET.\n\n\n\n\nWe have now gained sev
eral more years of teaching TRE in our ms-association in Follo\, Norway\,
and more research articles from Denmark has become available. In this talk
we provide an update based on our experiences and surveys in our group\,
and the latest research article.\n\nFor the last 5 five years\, from 2020
to 2025\, we have organized and taught weekly TRE groups as volunteers in
the Follo MS association. In our groups we also focus on acceptance. and t
hat we can live a full life\, despite the challenges\, like physical limit
ations\, that the body does not function as before\, that one may not be a
ble to work\, and feelings like shame etc\, that for many accompany having
a chronic illness like MS. MS is a progressive disease\, where the body i
s constantly changing\, and brings a lot of uncertainty and fear that the
body may get worse\, and you don’t know when. This makes it challenging
to become comfortable in our own body.\n\nWe will talk about how TRE can b
e a support in this situation.\n\nIn this talk\, we want to share the expe
riences with TRE from our group. This includes our personal experiences\,
the results of surveys the participants have answered\, how we practice an
d facilitate\, and our thoughts about how we are using this method.\n\n\n\
 n\n&nbsp\;\nRegister for the free talk here.\n&nbsp\;\nTRE™ q&amp\;a\, c
onnect and tremor session led by Hans Holter Solhjell\, Anne Rustad Sjøvo
 ld and Katrine Bagge-Skarheim\nMonday\, December 1st | 7 pm – 8:30 pm CE
T.\n\n\n\nIn this 90 minutes session\, we will connect and share experienc
es related to the topic of the talk and TRE™ in general\, and you can as
k questions related to the topic of the talk.\n\nWe will also do a tremor
session\, demonstrate interventions and modifications\, and provide indivi
dual guidance and support.\n\nWe will demonstrate how we work with our MS
groups\, adapting the exercises with the goal that everyone can participat
 e. It’s a bit of trial and error\, where we always have to be curious\,
test out different things\, and be creative. We will also show videos from
our groups.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe focus on that there is nothing wrong with how o
ur participants do the exercises\, but try to support participants to find
the right muscles/body parts\, and not focus on how the exercise looks\,
to make everyone feel safe and included\, regardless of their general move
ment ability.\n\nSelf-regulation becomes particularly important – and is
transferable to other situations in life\, to have agency\, self-determin
ation\, that we can regulate ourselves\, and take more control over our ow
n body.\n\nThese sessions are for those with quite a bit of experience wit
 h TRE™ as a personal practice\, instructors\, and trainers. They are not
beginner sessions and provide additional ideas\, exercises\, and interven
tions compared to the basic set of TRE™ exercises.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
The purpose of these sessions are also to connect with others who practice
TRE™ to share experiences\, support and learn from each other.\n\n\n\n\
n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\nSign up for Q&amp\;A and tremor session here.\n&nbsp\;\nAb
out Anne Rustad Sjøvold and Katrine Bagge-Skarheim\n\n\n\n\nAnne has work
ed with children and youth with different disabilities for more than 30 ye
ars.\n\nKatrine has worked as a child protection educator for more than 10
years\, and has coordinated agencies’ drug- and crime prevention on a m
unicipal level for many years.\n\nWe are both diagnosed with ms.\n\n&nbsp\
